Sphericam is the world’s only fully spherical, 360º video camera that records in 4K. You can film everything around you and play it back in amazing resolution on your PC, tablet, or VR headset.

File formats and Quality

For professional usage, Sphericam can capture huge files in a very high bitrate, in lossless (or nearly lossless) quality. For more casual use, Sphericam can output files that are smaller but still in very, very high quality.

Pro quality

Six individual videos, up to 60FPS in Cinema DNG, up to 2.4 gigabits per second bitrate total (300 megabytes per second) using the fastest type of memory card (Sandisk Extreme Pro). At 30FPS, it is entirely lossless. At 60FPS, it is slightly lossy, but in practical terms, you will still have as much freedom as possible in post production for color grading.

High quality compression

Six individual videos, compressed in H.264 (in an mp4 file) up to 600 megabits per second (100 Mbit/sec per camera).

Realtime stitching resolution/quality

One single stitched panoramic video written to the internal memory of the camera in real time. We are aiming to deliver at least 30FPS at 4096×2048 resolution, in 10 bit color, with at least 600 megabits per second bit rate.

Live Streaming resolution/quality

Using a micro USB to Ethernet adapter, it will be possible to stream either 6 unstitched videos, or a single stitched panoramic video, at a bitrate of up to 100Mbps.

Robbert As some of you may know, I have been suffering from the aftermath of a traffic accident, a severe case of COVID-19, and a transient ischemic attack (TIA). These events have taken a toll on my physical and mental well-being, and I can no longer keep up with the demands of running a VR website and channel. I want to thank you all for your support and feedback over the years. You have been an amazing community and I have enjoyed sharing my passion for VR and gaming with you. I hope you will continue to enjoy VR and explore its possibilities. I will leave the website and channel online for now, so you can still access the content I have created. However, I will not be posting any new blogs, videos, or news. I hope you understand and respect my choice.
